| Message from Campaign Chair |
Wow! We are at nearly 70% of our campaign total, and we've gotten there faster than ever! It seems that everyone is understanding what it means to Live United, and is making an impact on the campaign.
We have nine new ADT members this year, our Heart Club members are growing, we have new companies giving, and get this, we have elementary school students setting new records in giving through the Coins for Kids program - raising more than $11,000! It's amazing, it's the Sioux Empire United Way, it's how we Live United!! Scott Lawrence

Government Division Government Division Chair Galynn Huber, and a committee of volunteers put together an annual government cook-off event to kickoff their respective United Way campaigns.
City, County, and State employees could enter their favorite recipe into the competition, or enjoy the tasty creations of their coworkers. Partner agency information booths completed the event, which was a great way for government employees to start their campaigns. Each government division went on to run their own separate rallies after coming together for their kickoff. The government division came together in their giving too - achieving a 4% increase in their combined giving totals! More.

Name: Lisa Schaal Company: Wells Fargo Financial Cards Volunteer Role: General Business Campaigner # Years UW Volunteer: 1
What do you enjoy about volunteering for SEUW?
These are challenging times and I enjoy knowing that volunteering is making a positive impact on peoples' lives right in our own community.
Our new initiative pairs volunteer mentors with homeless families. Can you share about a mentor that served as a role model for you?
My parents were my mentors and have been great role models throughout my life. They taught my siblings and me the importance of working hard to provide for our families and to give back to the community. Being active volunteers in the community and also giving financially, they have shown by example that it is important to share our gifts, our time and our talents.
Any other fun facts about you, your family, your career or hobbies that you'd like to share?
My husband and I have two children. I enjoy reading, when time allows, and spending time with my family.
Is there anything else you would like to share with other United Way supporters?
I would encourage everyone to volunteer for the SEUW and a United Way Agency. By volunteering for a United Way agency, you will have an opportunity to see the impact that United Way has on the community and the need that is out there for these agencies and the SEUW. More

Campaign Resources
Consider including United Way in your holiday plans for your staff. Invite a partner agency speaker to attend your holiday party to share a word of thanks for supporting United Way.
Or, instead of your normal holiday party - consider inviting everyone to an agency tour instead.
