| Message from Campaign Chair |

This past spring, community impact volunteers spent 1400 hours reviewing the needs of our community, looking at program budgets, and meeting with our partner agencies. Through this diligent process the volunteers presented their United Way allocation recommendation for 2010. The allocation process showed United Way the community's need and led United Way to its goal of $9,427,450. That is why, right now, 1,000 volunteers are working countless more hours. To help us raise over $9.4 million. To help meet the needs of the Sioux Empire. Needs like financial counseling, which experienced a 43% increase in sessions provided in the first half of 2009 compared to the first half of 2008. Needs like nutrition, with 450 older adults receiving a hot meal today. And needs like after school programming, and the more than 1,000 students that will have a safe place to go after school today. We Live United by volunteering. We Live United by giving. And we will all Live United when we are able to meet the needs of the Sioux Empire.

| Mitel DataNet
ECMs Jerry Foy and John Ray focused on communicating the importance of United Way to their employees during their campaign. Along with holding employee rallies, they made sure to personally meet with each employee to talk about United Way.
The passion of the local employees and volunteers paid off. Their corporate office recognized Mitel's passion for United Way and contributed a first-time corporate gift. More.

What do you enjoy about volunteering for SEUW?
I love learning more about United Way each year in the volunteer roles that I have had. The whole experience has been rewarding knowing that each one of us has the ability to make a positive impact in our community. Our new initiative pairs volunteer mentors with homeless families. Can you share about a mentor that served as a role model for you?
My great grandmother taught me many lessons in my life. She always gave from her heart and shared her time and talents volunteering in our small NW Iowa community.
Is there anything else you would like to share with other United Way supporters? Being a part of United Way has been a fantastic experience, and I encourage everyone to take time to volunteer. By volunteering, you can see what your time, talents and donations do to make a difference in the lives of others.
