Ready to Read!, a component of the Success By 6^Ò initiative, is a program that will help improve the reading skills of children throughout the Sioux Empire.

Thanks to strong community support, Sioux Empire United Way has launched a new reading initiative called Ready to Read!  One component of Ready to Read! is Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library Program. To enroll your child, please fill out the form below.  It may take eight to ten weeks to receive your first book due to initial processing and registration with Imagination Library.  Thank you for your patience!

Once you sign up, Sioux Empire United Way will provide books to your child through The Dollywood Foundation’s Imagination Library program. The books are sent directly to your home and are age & developmentally appropriate for your child. Books will arrive monthly. The date of arrival may fluctuate each month due to packing, sorting, and shipping variables. Your understanding is appreciated.

Eligibility:  Parents who live or work in Minnehaha, Lincoln, McCook or Turner Counties in South Dakota are eligible to sign up their children ages birth to five years old. The program is free.  However, if you would like to contribute to the cost of the books for your child, you can give additionally through the Sioux Empire United Way campaign. The books cost our United Way $29 per child, per year.
