Active Generations’ BRIDGES Employment Resource Center provides services to over-40 job seekers to assist them in their job search. Last year 127 clients used resume preparation services, 19 clients used computer training, 72 clients received help with interview skills, and 319 people attended a job fair.
Active Generations’ Day Break Adult Day Services provides activities, health monitoring, socialization, and assistance with daily activities which allows individuals to continue to live in their homes
Active Generations’ Nutrition Program provides persons ages 60 and over a hot and nutritious noon meal in a congregate or home delivered setting for a donation. Last year, 210,911 meals were served to 4,295 people.
Active Generations’ Rural Senior Program provides fitness/wellness, social, education and recreation program coordination to 111 people in Lennox, 121 people in Canton, and 68 people in Dell Rapids.
Active Generations’ Workers on Wheels helps seniors remain independent in their homes by providing minor home repair, lawn and outside home repair, as well as transportation to and from medical appointments. 1,013 jobs and 558 rides were provided to 416 clients last year.
Senior Companions of SD pairs healthy older adults with other adults to help complete household tasks that enable them to live independently. Last year, 37,362 hours of services was provided to 339 individuals. 62% of clients receiving in-home services were able to remain in their own homes 6 or more months due, in part, to services provided by Senior Companions.
Siouxland RSVP provides and coordinates meaningful volunteer experiences for retired individuals by matching their time and talents with the needs of their local communities through local non-profit agencies, health facilities, and public agencies. RSVP volunteers donated 55,765 hours of service locally last year.
